The Permissions section clarifies the use of materials published by ISCHRO including statements, media and press releases, articles, news, photographs and audio or visual recordings. Please read carefully through the Permissions section before submitting a request to ISCHRO so that all requests can be processed efficiently. Please forward all requests clearly and accurately.
The following information applies only to materials to which ISCHRO holds a copyright. In certain cases where ISCHRO has republished material with the permission of an individual, organisation or any other party, copyright of such materials maybe held by the individual author, organisation or any other party, in which case permission must be sought from the individual, organisation or any other party concerned either directly or through ISCHRO.
Proper Procedure for Forwarding a Request for Use of ISCHRO Materials
Most requests for use of ISCHRO materials will require permission from ISCHRO. For those materials requiring permission, the person/s will be required to sign and submit a Permissions Form (available online). All signed forms will be legally binding. For those categories of materials not requiring permission from ISCHRO please read the sections concerning those categories below.
If you are a permissions officer requiring written consent for all reprinted materials you can obtain a written consent in the following ways:

Period of Validity for a Permissions Grant
Permission grants for ISCHRO material or renewal of grants are given on a case by case basis. Permissions may be for a series of materials or a particular category of materials or a particular piece of material.

Documents labelled as statements or press release on the ISCHRO website may be reprinted or reproduced in full, with proper attribution to ISCHRO (including title, index number, ISCHRO copyright), without asking permission or signing a Permissions Form.
Use for Academic and Teaching Purposes by Lecturers/Professors and Teachers
ISCHRO does not require a signed Permissions Form for the use of ISCHRO materials in educational packages and other course related materials. The proviso being that all materials obtained is for teaching purposes only and that you include appropriate citation or reference to ISCHRO. When referencing for academic purposes all material cited or obtained from ISCHRO should include title, index number, the organization’s name (i.e., either ISCHRO or International Shia Cultural and Human Rights Organization) and author’s name (if there is one made available, otherwise the author may be cited as ISCHRO or International Shia Cultural and Human Rights Organization).

Citing ISCHRO Materials
All material cited or obtained from ISCHRO should include title, index number, the organization’s name (i.e., either ISCHRO or International Shia Cultural and Human Rights Organization) and author’s name (if there is one made available, otherwise the author may be cited as ISCHRO or International Shia Cultural and Human Rights Organization). The style of referencing can be in accordance to the citer’s own academic preferences.
Other than use for academic and teaching purposes to reproduce any ISCHRO material (including use in other publications, media broadcasting, radio broadcasting, etc) one must obtain permission from ISCHRO by submitting a request by email/fax/post. To process a request the following information must be provided:
(a) The name/date/index number of the ISCHRO material requested; (b) Contact details of the individual, company or organisation requesting information, including an email and a mailing address.
Providing a Link to an ISCHRO Webpage
If it is only a link to the ISCHRO webpage and you are not reproducing any ISCHRO materials on your website, you do not need to request permission or sign a Permissions Form.
Permission to use Photographs, Audio Works, Visual Works or any other images in ISCHRO Materials
All requests for permission for this category can be obtained by emailing, faxing or posting the Permissions Form.
Translation of a Part or Entire ISCHRO Text Documents or Audio Documents
All translations require a request for permission from ISCHRO. Permission and approval will be pending a review by the appropriate department for the accuracy and correctness of the translated work. All requests for translations will be dealt with independently and separately. All requests should be sent to ISCHRO with the following information:
(a) The name/date/index number of the ISCHRO material requested for translation; (b) Details of where the translated work will appear; (c) Contact details of the individual, company or organisation requesting information, including an email and a mailing address; (d) Name and contact details of co-ordinator in charge of the translation.
Permission is required to be obtained from ISCHRO for storing all ISCHRO material in a library database or an electronic archive or some other method of collection. Please follow the procedure outlined in "Proper Procedure for Forwarding a Request for Use of ISCHRO Materials" along with the following information:
(a) Name of the database/electronic archive/collection; (b) Brief description of the database/electronic archive/collection; (c) Location of database/electronic archive/collection; (d) Person responsible for the database/electronic archive/collection; (e) Details of the ISCHRO materials requested for storage/collection/database, including title and index number; (f) Contact details of your company or organisation, including email and a mailing address.
Response Period for Permissions Request
Receipt of all permissions requests will be acknowledged through an email reply. Depending on the particular permissions request, processing time may vary based on the work load involved and the number of requests submitted.
Charges for Granting Permissions for ISCHRO Materials
Permissions granted by ISCHRO for use of ISCHRO materials are free.
Note: ISCHRO reserves the right to reject a permission request or revoke any permissions granted by ISCHRO.
